Modeled on Tisch’s renowned film school curriculum — and built to avoid the impersonal experience of so many online programs — each of our courses includes weekly individual and collaborative assignments.
Designed to offer you scheduling flexibility, you’ll join live video meetings with faculty and classmates.
Video lectures delivered by Tisch faculty and produced by real-life filmmakers allow students to delve into the material at their own pace.

Cinematography Fundamentals $795
This fully self-paced course covers a variety of core topics to build a foundation for shooting digital films. Students receive written feedback on their final project from an NYU instructor.

Documentary Fundamentals Workshop $1,108
With participation from NYTimes Op-Docs, this workshop gives emerging storytellers the tools they need to move people and change the world. Work is reviewed by peers and individually by a NYU instructor.

Filmmaking Fundamentals Workshop $1,108
This workshop introduces you to the essential theory and techniques of developing and producing short films. It includes online lectures as well as a 1:1 video meeting with an instructor.
